My Story - by Kieron Butler.

This is our 3rd investigation at this amazing venue in 2005 and as ever, it certainly didn’t let us down.

The UK Paranormal Study (Now Extreme Paranormal) – Decembers investigation has to be the best yet!

We split into 3 groups with the 1st vigil had a group on the 1st floor landing area bothered by a spirit called Michael, our medium communicated with him but surprisingly Ms D could see him standing in the doorway. He disappeared then hit our mediums crystal ball off its plinth onto the floor.

2nd vigil had Mr Al being used in a trance by a boy trying to flee his nasty father who we later learned was the known spirit Michael. Mr Al knew he was sensitive but being thrust straight into mediumship was a shock to us all.

3rd vigil found Mr D, Mr Ad, Mr Al and I – Kieron in the attic.
It was quiet but I knew something was near. We agreed to try an Ouija Board (with owner’s permission) we gathered all available protection within ourselves and asked our guides to protect us then opened the session. I must stress that this was not and should never be taken lightly! This can be dangerous and should only used with experienced participants.

We immediately gained contact with a spirit feeding us false information and warnings of death etc etc. I seemed to just know it was Edward the main dominant spirit there and accused him of wasting our time, we know who he is and to step aside to let other spirits get through.

What happened next should be a warning to anyone using the Ouija board!

We asked for a sign outside the board and we heard a deep kind of groan or yell.

I felt his presence rush across the attic towards us as did Mr Al and we all felt a freezing blast of air hit us with force. I felt him at first right behind me, we continued then I felt him stand in the spot I was sitting, I felt overcome by a feeling I cannot explain but I think he was trying to get into me as if I could be used as a channel. This was getting unbearable and I then felt a terrible stabbing pain in my back, moments later the board spelt out stab & die! I felt my pain lift slightly, within 2 seconds Mr Al was knocked over breaking a chair as he went and was unconscious then I felt all the pain and feelings return before I passed out. I remember being brought round and was weak and wobbly. We closed the Ouija session and thanked our guides for the protection under these rather difficult conditions. I was helped downstairs but was aware of him watching me and laughing. I think this horrible event has taken me to the next stage in my development towards mediumship. For the rest of the investigation I could tell when either Michael or Edward was near.

We had other incidents with the Ouija board and also recorded strange noises plus a few pics to accompany this article.

Visit of Bristol Dowsers to the “Ram” – a haunted pub at Wootton under Edge, Gloucestershire on Sunday 24th September, 2000.

This is an edited account of the experiences of both Dowsers and Mediums / Clairvoyants who attended

The pub itself was built in 1179 over an even earlier graveyard. It has 4 residentghosts and a whole host of spirits including several highwaymen, plus a visiting incubus and succubus.

Before we go any further it is worth explaining the difference between ghosts and spirits. A Ghost is thought to be a vibration contained in the fabric of a building or is associated with a particular site by reason of a previous happening, usually traumatic. Images of a ghost can usually be seen only at particular times that probably correspond with the time, or anniversary of, the event that caused the vibrations to remain in the first place.

A Spirit can be regarded as a disembodied soul that has not passed, for some particular reason, from this plane (earthbound) to the dimension where it would normally go. Spirits can be seen at all times by those who have the ability to do so.

An Incubus is a male demon believed to have sexual intercourse with sleeping women. A Succubus is the female equivalent.

Strict protection precautions were taken on behalf of all present and as a result no one actually saw very much except for our resident clairvoyants who noted:

  1. A tall, scantily clad, lady (a 17th century prostitute and thief and accessory to 6 murders) in the doorway to the Parlour on the ground floor who didn’t move, but gave several people an uncomfortable feeling when they passed the spot.

  2. Also in the Parlour were several men (18th century) smoking long clay pipes.

  3. In the attic, there was a very pretty, crippled young lady sitting on the floor in a long dress. (14th century, who became a witch, daughter of the then landlord)

  4. In another room in the attic there was an entity in the form of a young lady in her early teens who took on the guise of another spirit known to one of the Mediums, but did not act in the way the known spirit acted and was banished by the Medium Two lady visitors (twins) tried to enter the room but were prevente from doing so, explaining that it felt that they had lead in their shoes and their legs had gone stiff. Further protection was then given enabling the two ladies to enter the room where they felt “odd”. On asking whether there was anything in the room that would do harm to the two ladies, the response was “Oh Yes, Oh Yes”. Further prayer and protection were given and the entity disappeared.

  5. In another room on the first floor, (the “Bishop’s” Room) well furnished with several antiques, a voice declared “Don’t sit on my bed” and there was a definite air of malignancy in that room. Another clairvoyant was also warned off sitting on the bed.

  6. Also in the “Bishop’s Room” were 2 female spirits who were asked if they were happy and they said "No”. These 2 ghosts were pictured as being surrounded by white light and imagined as being sent on their way "into the light". A strong feeling of stress / antagonism / unease arose and it was thought that everything would be all right if the pendulum would rotate clockwise - which it wasn't doing. Another Dowser was asked to assist and after about a minute or two of "well wishing" the atmosphere was a lot better and more relaxed and the pendulums rotated clockwise.

  7. In the owner’s bedroom on the ground floor, there were other spirits, some good, some evil, but none harmful on account of the protection. There was a well beneath the floor in the kitchen, some hundred feet deep, and at the bottom there resided a spirit that had been there for hundreds of years. Subsequent enquiries as to the possible release of this spirit were made, but were turned down due to its previous activities in the field of Black Magic that, we were told, could not be granted. The spirit was unable to face light of any sort and would not be released until it could face light. (This spirit was eventually released when the reason for its presence was determined).

One of our members felt a loss of balance in two rooms. In each case it felt as if he had been pushed to one side. He retraced his steps and the same thing happened again. He noticed that noticed that although the floor was sloping he fell upwards rather than down with the slope of the floor. On dowsing he found that there was a spirit close by, and assumed it was its way of attracting his attention.

The Owner of the Inn had a list showing those who had held the deeds of the pub since the 12th century and one of the Mediums was given the name “Joanna” (this was the spirit in 1 above). We ere told that Joanna was not included in the list of those who held the deeds, but was shown (in 1673), in another list of those who had been designated as caretakers of the Inn. (This was immediately followed by a voice saying “There you are, I told you I was here and I intend to stay here.”)

Another incident was when one of us put his hand on a shepherd’s crook that hung on a wall and found his hand being pushed away from the wall some 4”

Names that “came to mind “

Jim Brady - this turned out to be the name of the shepherd whose crook was on the wall..

William Hogarth (the cartoonist) was a frequent visitor to the Inn.

Jillian Davis (in the room with the spinning wheel) another local prostitute, (19th century) thief and accessory to 4 murders. She was not seen but wanted to make her name known to us.

One final item for the inside of the building, it was found that 14 people had been murdered in the Parlour between 1656 and 1677, their bodies being taken to the cellar and thence to the churchyard via a tunnel where they were dumped in a common grave. It wasindeed, at that time, a den of iniquity. The spirits of two of these victims were released (see Item 6 above)

Outside the Inn, in the courtyard, dowsers found

  1. A tunnel leading southwards from the Inn to what we were told was the site of an abbey enabling the monks to get a crafty pint now and again.

  2. Another tunnel that used to be a millrace running a short distance eastwards from the Inn to a neighbouring property that used to be a Mill.

  3. The 6ft wide tunnel going from the Inn towards the Church, but no trace of any tunnel actually entering the church. A torrential downpour ended further investigation of this aspect, but it was found that the energy in the Nave was blue.

  4. A 2’6” wide stream of rather nasty black energy (leading away down the valley from the Inn) that was slowly draining the evil from the site. There was also a particular spot that radiated an increasing amount of negative energy. A band of white energy was also found, also an underground stream.

  5. The location of two parallel foundations indicating the positions of what use to be an extension of the Inn to the eastward.

Prior to the building of the Inn, the site was used on several occasions for the burial of those who were thought to be of an evil disposition and therefore unworthy of being buried within the walls of the churchyard. There was much evil on this site that permeated whatever was built there but this evil is now slowly dissipating and the site is being cleansed and neutralised. The purpose of the Incubus and succubus is to torment and not to cause reparation. The owner is not being threatened in any way.

Many thanks to Bristol Dowsers for this article.
